• Hmm... first blog post ever. What to say, what to say.

Not being much of a writer, I shall use this blog to provide a few anecdotes of the interesting and amusing scenarios I encounter on a regular basis. Like this one time...

Perhaps one of the most interesting electrical calls I have had in the last year was from a lady who insisted that the electricity in her house had been slowly but surely fading in power over the last 12 months since she moved in. Intrigued and happy to help, I stopped by...

She took me from room to room explaining that starting with the dining room, she had been steadily losing power in random places around the house, she even grabbed a flashlight because, "the power is only on in one corner of the basement." I began to suspect at this point what the issue may be, but politely asked how she knew she still had power in that corner of the basement. She revealed that it was one of two lights in the house that still turned on when she flipped the switch, and that's how she knew she didn't have power in so many other places, because the lights didn't turn on.

Doing my best not to smile, I asked her if she had considered changing the light bulbs in any of the 2 dozen fixtures that weren't working. The blank stare I was rewarded with answered my question in full. I told her that I needed to retrieve a few things from the truck but that I was confident we could restore her power. 27 light bulbs later... another satisfied client. All in a day's work.
